Fight 4 Donuts
Hunter Huss High School won the "Fight 4 Donuts" competition with Edge Factor. Krispy Kreme delivered donuts for all students and staff on Friday, March 24. Thanks to everyone that voted for HHHS!

Fire Engine Donated to Hunter Huss Program
A special delivery arrived last week at Hunter Huss High School - a fire engine from the Crowders Mountain Fire Department. The department donated the retired engine to the school for the Firefighter Academy, a program that trains students for careers in the fire service. The fire engine will give students an opportunity for hands-on training, which is an important part of the Career and Technical Education program. HHHS Senior Trip 2017
This year the Senior Class will have an awesome opportunity for a senior trip to Atlanta, GA. Seniors will visit several exciting attractions, including Six Flags. Tentative dates for the trip are from Thursday, April 20, 2017 to Saturday, April 22, 2017. Seniors can obtain information about the Senior Trip and payment options through this or from Carmela Watson at ctwatson@gaston.k12.nc.us.

Traffic Pattern
Our traffic pattern has changed. Please follow the new traffic pattern when dropping off students and picking up students. The student drop off / pick up area is located in front of the main gym near the picnic tables.

Career Academy Teacher Training
On August 10, 2016 the Career Academy teachers provided a Career Academy Immersion Training for the Hunter Huss School Improvement Team, Guidance Counselors and School Administration. The training provided hands-on experiences and presentations to inform on what the Career Academy offers to students and the superb learning opportunities provided through the program.

Freshman Transition Camp, August 2016
The Class of 2020 was invited to participate in a Freshman Transition Camp on August 16, 2016. Students were able to learn more about their core academic classes, electives, and how to be a successful student at the high school level. Students were provided lunch and were able to participate in activities and games to build new friendships. At the conclusion of the day, students were given a Class of 2020 t-shirt and received their schedules for the 2016-2017 school year. Over 140 students participated in the event.

Open House, August 2016
Hunter Huss High School invited students and parents to attend an Open House and Orientation on Thursday, August 25, 2016 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm. At Open House, students were able to obtain their schedules, locate their classes and meet their teachers. Everyone who attended the open house were given a ticket to attend the Junior Varsity Football Game against Burns High School at 7:00 here at Hunter Huss. At 6:15 pm, ninth grade students and their parents attended a Freshman Information Seminar in the Auditorium. Freshmen students and their parents received information about the start of school, tips for being successful in high school, and met Hunter Huss Administration and Counselors.
