Ms. Carole Hamblin

Mrs. Hamblin, originally from Garner, N.C., graduated from NC State University with a Bachelor's of Science in Textile Chemistry. She worked in research and development and quality assurance for eight years before staying home to raise three sons. In 2012, she started her 2nd career as an educator by teaching Science at York Chester Middle School. During her 10 years at YCMS, she taught Science and Math to students in the 7th and 8th grades. In 2021, Mrs. Hamblin was selected to participate in the North Carolina Principal Fellows Program at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Mrs. Hamblin served as an Assistant Principal Intern at Hunter Huss, and has been an Assistant Principal since 2023.

Mrs. April McGee

Mrs. April Hall McGee, originally from Asheville, N.C., graduated from UNC Asheville (by way of NC Central University) with a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature. In 2014, she received a Master's Degree in Learning and Instruction from Northeastern University, Charlotte Campus. In 2021, Mrs. McGee was selected to participate in the North Carolina Principal Fellows Program at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte where she completed her Master's of School Administration and Principal Certification in the Spring of 2023. She has been an educator for over 20 years, spending the bulk of her time in middle school as an English Language Arts Teacher and Instructional/Curriculum Coach. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, reading, watching television, and coloring. Mrs. McGee is excited to be a part of the Hunter Huss Family!

Ms. Nicole Sparrow

Ms. Sparrow, an educator for 27 years, has previously served as an elementary teacher in New York City and a middle school teacher, literacy specialist and RTI coach in Charlotte, North Carolina.
To prepare for the Assistant Principal role, her journey began with a Bachelor of Arts in English from Virginia State University. She later received a Master of Science degree in Instructional Technology from New York Institute of Technology and a Master of Education degree in Curriculum and Instruction with a minor in Reading from Concordia University. Ms. Sparrow earned her Educational Leadership credentials from The College of St. Rose. Ms. Sparrow’s focus is supporting teachers, analyzing data and supporting the implementation of curriculum.
Ms. Sparrow is a proud mom of two adult daughters. She enjoys traveling, reading, visiting family, friends and most of all attending meetings to fellowship as an illustrious member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated. She presently holds the position of Writing Contest Director with North Carolina English Teachers Association. Ms. Sparrow’s most admired quote is, “Try to be a rainbow in someone's cloud.”

Mrs. Molly Tessnear

Mrs. Tessnear, originally from Shelby, N.C., is a graduate of Gardner-Webb University with a Bachelor of Arts in English. She served as a news reporter for several years prior to entering the field of education. In 2015, Mrs. Tessnear began teaching at Hunter Huss as an English teacher and later, yearbook advisor. In 2019, she was named the Hunter Huss Teacher of the Year and was a finalist for аæèßäapp Teacher of the Year. In 2021, she was selected as a North Carolina Principal Fellow and received her Master of School Administration from UNC-Charlotte in 2023.
For the past two years, Mrs. Tessnear served as an assistant principal intern and then as the assistant principal at Woodhill Elementary School. Mrs. Tessnear is ecstatic to return to Hunter Huss High School as an assistant principal. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Matthew, her dog, Charlotte, her family and friends; reading; listening to music; traveling; and writing poetry.

Mr. Weaver is proud to be serving as an Assistant Principal at Hunter Huss High School for the 2024-2025 school year. He is excited to support the school and continue their tradition of excellence.
Mr. Weaver is a graduate of Wingate University with a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics Education and a Master's in Mathematics Education from Appalachian State University. He began teaching in 2010 at Lincolnton High School. In 2021, he was selected as a North Carolina Principal Fellow. In 2023, he received his Master of School Administration from UNC-Charlotte. He enjoys spending time with his family and three children; Amelia, Ben, and Sam.
