Hello! My name is Mrs. Burton and this is my 12th year teaching! I taught 4th grade at  Bessemer City Central Elementary for 4 years. This is my 8th year teaching 5th grade at Catawba Heights Elementary School. 

I am originally from Bessemer City. I graduated from Bessemer City High School. Teaching is my second career. My first career was a stay-at-home mother for 16 years. I earned my teaching degree from Appalachian State University. 

I have been married for 34 years and have two daughters.  I have one step-grand daughter (Hailey). Two grandkids (Aaron) and (Juliana).  Four adopted grandkids (Kamryn, Jacob, Courtney, and Alyssa). 

I love being a teacher and helping grow a love for learning. I’m looking forward to a great year!
