Ms. Shandrai Silva
Hello, my name is Shandrai Silva. I am the school counselor at Hawks Nest STEAM Academy. I have a Master's degree in Counseling. I'm also a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC). I have been a school counselor with аæèßäapp since 2003. Prior to coming to аæèßäapp, I worked with children and families in various settings (group homes, foster care, intensive in-home and school-based mental health counseling).
I'd like to take this opportunity to share a few things about the school counseling program at Hawks Nest STEAM Academy. The goal of the school counseling program is to address the developmental needs of all students through a program that addresses the academic, career and social-emotional development of all students. At Hawks Nest, I have the opportunity to see every student through classroom guidance. In classroom guidance, we will explore topics related to character education, friendship, bullying, emotions, goal-setting, college & careers and more. I also meet with students individually and in small groups. Students may talk with a school counselor about a variety of things - feelings, relationships, understanding others, and problem-solving are just a few. No concern is too big or too small.
