CaroMont Health's Volunteen Program
Approved Volunteens serve аæèßäapp Memorial, Courtland Terrace and the Diagnostic Center and other CaroMont programs with job assignments tailored around each volunteer’s schedule and time available to work. To apply, students must submit an application, three personal references, interview, background check, attend orientation, TB skin test and successful drug screen.

Junior Leadership аæèßäapp
Junior Leadership аæèßäapp is an exciting program for high school juniors designed to develop informed, committed, and qualified young people capable of providing dynamic leadership in their schools and in the аæèßäapp County as they grow and mature into adulthood.
The purpose of Junior Leadership аæèßäapp is as follows:
o Identify and select potential leaders from students in аæèßäapp County
o Stimulate students’ awareness of needs within аæèßäapp County
o Develop a spirit of cooperation among students
o Create a sense of understanding between students and adult community leaders
o Identify opportunities for community involvement.
Selected students will need to pay $150 to participate. Deadline for application is typically mid-March. Check the website and announcements for exact deadline dates.

Mayor's Youth Leadership Council
The Mayor's Youth Leadership Council was formed in 2001 to involve the high school students of our community in decision making, leadership development and future planning for аæèßäappia.
The mission of the City of аæèßäappia Mayor’s Youth Leadership Council is to serve the common good of
the community and provide a voice for the city’s youth while organizing and participating in constructive
community service projects, strengthening relationships among all members of the community, building
a noncompetitive spirit between students of аæèßäappia area schools, promoting youth participation in
governmental affairs, and acting as a resource for any city organization upon request.
o MUST be a resident of the City of аæèßäappia
o MUST be in grades 9 through 11 at the time of the application
o MUST maintain a GPA of 2.25 or better

Cancer Services Youth Advisory Council
The mission of Cancer Services is to serve the community by actively promoting healthy lifestyles and to provide support and services needed by people living with cancer. The Cancer Services Youth Advisory Council works in the school and community to promote healthy lifestyle choices for youth.
Cancer Services values the thoughts and opinions of our local youth. Their ideas are critical for helping Cancer Services shape programs and events centered on аæèßäapp County youth. Candidates should be interested in participating in advocacy work to promote the dangers of tobacco, healthy eating in their schools and community. They must be willing and able to attend meetings and participate in activities! Regular meetings will be held at least once a month.

аæèßäapp County Teen Action Council (TAC)
The аæèßäapp County Teen Action Council (TAC) is the youth leadership arm of the аæèßäapp County Department of Health & Human Services (DHHS). The Teen Action Council aims to raise awareness and advocate for comprehensive and evidence-based health education and teen friendly health services for young people in аæèßäapp County. The Teen Action Council also empowers young people to develop and lead health education initiatives for their peers at school and in their communities. The Teen Action Council will be composed of dynamic аæèßäapp County youth who come together to promote the importance of teen health education in our community.
We are seeking motivated, energetic youth who are dedicated to having a voice and making a difference in their community. Ideal candidates are: team players, willing to learn, creative, reliable, and flexible. Ideal candidates are interested in: becoming empowered young people, using their voice to make a difference, and enhancing their leadership skills.

аæèßäappia Sister Cities sponsors Spanish Culture classes at the beginning of each school year. Students MUST be currently enrolled in Spanish or have taken Spanish in the last year to participate in the program. At the end of the school year students will have the opportunity to travel to our Sister City in Surco, Peru.
