Testing information

  • HST Counselors recommend that all students take the ACT and/or SAT more than once.  Many Colleges and Universities will superscore the ACT and SAT.  Superscoring means that when a student takes one test multiple times the College will take the highest score from each section to maximize the student's score.  
     
    All students will take the ACT during their junior year at Highland as a part of NC state testing.  Students wishing to also take the SAT should do so by the end of their junior year.
     
    Any student who receives Free or Reduced Lunch may receive two testing fee waivers to pay for the SAT and ACT.  See a School Counselor to receive your fee waiver code.  Students who use a fee waiver for the SAT or ACT will also receive four College application fee waivers after taking the test.
