All GCS students have an opportunity for AIG screening at the end of the first nine weeks of the K-2 years. All third graders are screened after the county IQ test is given. Beginning fourth graders are screened using third grade EOG scores. Fifth graders are screened for middle school placement during their second semester. Due to the number of opportunities GCS student have for AIG screening, we only screen middle school students for AIG testing during the summer or the first six weeks of school. The exceptions is the immediate screening of a student new to GCS who enroll durning the school year. We will honor AIG placement from other school districts.
