  • 'Good News' about Belmont Central Elementary School

    We received approximately 100 books from South Point High School students Dylan Nicks and David Nicks through their book donation project. 

    We raised $17,500 from our book fair, and the proceeds will be used to enhance our media center.

    Our PTO held a beautification day at the school on November 7.

    Teachers Abbey McKinney and Kaylee Hines participated in the “MyPlate” program that integrates fourth grade science and literacy standards with health and nutrition activities by using Schoology, technology, and real-world experiences.

    Art teacher Anna Smith worked with the City of Belmont’s design committee to create outdoor artwork.

    We received $2,000 from Duke Energy through the My Energy Kit Challenge.

    Student Addison Jones auditioned for the television series “Go Iguanas!”  She portrayed Mindy Maplewood, a student who attends a school for spies.

    Student Isla Rose Hightower was chosen to participate in the Braille Challenge, a program that motivates students to practice and hone their Braille literacy skills.


    IN THE NEWS:
    Our school had the opportunity to host a program by internationally-known artist Juan Logan.  to read a front-page article in the November 24, 2021 edition of the Banner-News about Mr. Logan’s visit.
