Laura Pekarek, also known as "Mrs. P" began following her passion of working with children during her high school days in Cherryville, North Carolina.  She continued to follow this dream of working with children at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, where she graduated with her Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. After graduating, she began teaching at Costner Elementary in Dallas, NC. Mrs. P loved teaching in the classroom, but realized she was being called for another career.  In 2010, Laura graduated with her Master's in Library Science from Appalachian State University.  The following school year, Laura began her career as a School Library Media Coordinator.  This is Mrs. Pekarek's 14th year as a media coordinator.   Mrs. Pekarek loves spending time with her family and friends outside of school.
