Hello and Welcome to the GECMS Website!

I am so honored to be the principal at GECMS and work with such a talented staff and gifted students.  I truly believe it was destiny and the work of a much higher power that brought us all together in August 2021, the day we opened our doors and started our new journey together.

I began working as GECMS principal in July 2021, three weeks after retiring from South Carolina with 28 years in public education.  I started my career as a high school English teacher in Saluda and Fairfield counties, and in 2000 became an assistant principal at a new high school that opened in Lexington county.  In 2004, I moved to Fort Mill and worked two more years as an assistant principal at Fort Mill High School.  In 2006, I was named principal of Nation Ford High School in Fort Mill, which opened its doors to students in 2007.  In 2015, I moved into district administration at York School District and remained there until my retirement.  I love being back in the school building and working, once again, with high school students.

My family and I live in the Lake Wylie area.  My husband, Bob, is a transplant from Buffalo, NY, and a devout Bills fan.  We have two amazing teenagers, Brody and Alana, and two fat, but loveable, Labrador Retrievers.  We don't travel much, but we love going out in our boat on Lake Wylie in the summer with our children and their friends.
I am so blessed and thankful for a job that I truly love and my amazing family!

Hope you have a great year!
